When ordered they told me will be ready in 15mins. Got there to pickup food waited an hour for food, when got food it was lce cold. Called they told me to come back will remake food. This time they made me something different from what I ordered and it looked like they thru it in the carton from across the room.

Truly authentic Mexican food that doesn't make me sick. Enough said. You get it all here. The service is impeccable.

Excellent food, service and prices.

Frozen margaritas were a little runny but the server ran the machine longer and added a small margarita to the original order to thicken the first drink. The second drink was perfect. Excellent job of listening to the customer and taking appropriate actions to correct the problem.

Local family business, been going since I was a child. It's my family favorite Mexican restaurant. Staff is very friendly 😊

Good service and great salsa!!

Have not been here for over 5 years and was pleasantly surprised nothing had changed. They brought chips to start that tasted fresh made, salsa and queso sauce was great. I ordered chicken tacos that were amazing. Fiance had the la favorite and it was good. The tostaguac (pictured) was not my favorite but really enjoyed everything. Would definitely recommend.

I had grill chicken salad, food was good, price average, service good and clean. Other family members were happy with their food too. Will return.

My family and I used to come here all the time until we moved. While in the area today, we were so happy to see they were open. We stopped for lunch and it was just as we remembered it! They are still very friendly and made sure everyone sat away from others.

Do yourself a favor and get their Corona-rita. I have not found a Mexican restaurant that does it like them. I'm not a huge fan of their beef, bit their grilled chicken and pulled chicken quesadillas are solid. Their rice and beans are pretty good, too.

Super friendly staff and laid back atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon. Chicken Yukatan was very tasty, along side the tortilla chips, salsa, and cheese dip. Topped off with fried ice cream and you can't go wrong. Great place to share a nice meal with friends.

Good food, reasonable prices and great service

My new favorite Mexican restaurant. Their salsa is good. The ability to customize your order and the authentic food makes me come back here all the time. The food is remarkably cheap compared to the commercialized places (ie Don Pablos). Highly recommended.

I stopped going to Mi Mexico when they left a glob of spit on our taco salad. So, we tried a new place. This is the best kept secret in town. Shhhh, don't tell anybody or they will end up crowded - but tried their taco salad and it can't be beat. Sorry I took so long to find you. I will be back soon.I came back and tried the chili relleno - best I've ever had. You guys are really good.

This is a typical Mexican restaurant. You go in, they take your drink order, you're given chips and salsa, you select from a wide selection of menu items. A few strange things stood out to me at first. We were greeted and seated by the waitress (ok, not strange), than the owner took our drink order, followed by a third person (potentially the chef) taking our food order. Why couldn't the waitress do all this? The furniture in the place was decades old, felt like Gordon Ramsey could have appeared at any moment to do a sudden remodel of the place. Now for the worst bits....1. It took over 30 minutes to be served our food. 2. I ordered fajitas and was never given tortillas. 3. The pork was jerky dry, chorizo was burnt, and the steak was flavorless and potentially spoiled (had a strange buttery taste). 4. Their rice was flavorless and a bit dry.This was my families first and last experience at this restaurant.

Good service, quiet atmosphere, tasty TexMex meals. A nice, informal dining spot.

Every single time I've gone to El Portal, I've had a wonderful experience. The queso fundido is a must. I feel I've had at least half the menu by now and truly believe there's no wrong choices.

Always had a great experience here. Food was authentic and the staff have always been polite and quick to deliver orders whether eat-in or take-out. This restaurant has been in business for quite sometime and is an all-time favorite in Rburg. The prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Lots of great food, big servings, excellent service, really good prices!

Usually great. I ordered a burrito and enchilada and I received 2 enchiladas with bland meat and 1 had marinara sauce and the other enchilada sauce. I was told what distinguished the enchilada from the burrito was the sauce. I'll stick to fajitas next time.

I would've gave El Portal a higher rating, however the owner stares through the table lattice seperaters while you eat and never ever stops whistling.....He can't stop whistling ...------ ever! This is not what I want while I eat...Two eyes staring at me through the wall and whistling .......My son and my brother didn't like it and considered it rude. The old man's daughter said we like to know when you're done and I told her that may be true but it gives you the creeps and the whistling is just too much..You don't think too much about the food while all this annoying stuff is going on....Don't stare at people who are eating and whistle loud !!!!! I will never go there again, it is a repeat thing.

If you want real mexican you should defiantly try this place. I would recommend the " Steak and Cheese Burrito" it is amazing!!

The food was good, the portion size was pretty good, the service however, could certainly be improved. Additionally, I found it to be a little pricey for the decor, and the obvious inexperience and lack of knowledge of our waitress. We had a party of seven, spent nearly a hundred and fifty bucks, and had to ask for nearly EVERYTHING that should've been automatically provided with our meal, refills, silverware, water, to-go boxes, etc. Wanted to give a 2 and 1/2, just haven't figured out if half stars are possible, and 2 didn't seem quite representative of the overall experience.

Very delicious food! I had bistec jalisco, the ribeye cooked in it's juice with mushroom & onion (I also added bell pepper) WOW! The ribeye was so flavorful & tender I enjoyed it very much. Great place!

Great good for great prices also they have very reasonably priced drinks to. Never disappointed when I go here and its always the same employees who work so it feels like you know everyone and they always keep the tortillas chips coming

American-style Mexican food. The service was great; food was mediocre. Prices were down to earth. We had a good time. 👍
